We're in the movies! Playing all this week at Cinema 21 is The Auteur, a new independent film made right here in PDX. Trashcan Joe cornet player and lead extravert Jason Wells scored the soundtrack, which also features Trashcan Joe. “What's an old-timey jazz band doing in the soundtrack of a satire of the adult film industry?”, you ask? Good question, for which there is no good answer. Go see it; the film is hilarious, although you will probably want to leave the kids at home.

Another recording in the can — We just finished tracking a soon-to-be-released album of beloved old cover tunes, tentatively titled Candid Standards (since we can't get enough “can” puns). Look for an announcement before the end of the year.

We're playing at Burning Man again this year. Look for us at Center Camp Friday night at 7pm, and again Sunday at 3pm. We'll also be playing while riding around on an art car shaped like a top hat. Only at Burning Man . . .

We're playing at Oregon Country Fair again this year! Big fun! We'll be playing shows at Monkey Palace and Morningwood Odditorium, both of which are in or near Chela Mela Meadow. Check our schedule for details.

Trashcan Joe will be on KBOO (90.7 FM) tonight! That's Friday, October 20 at midnight. Daniel Flessas has invited us back to his show, The Outside World. We'll be playing live, telling lies, the usual.

So Trashcan Joe played Burning Man last year, right? Right. And this year they've put us on the official Burning Man calendar. Go here and look at the bottom of the photo. Gotta see it to believe it...
